Giving Is A Part Of Being Selfish

Now, we've gotten to the point that many of you may not want to hear, but I urge you not to skip over this part because this is where the multiplication of blessings lies.

The principle of giving is in every major religion in the world. It is seen as universally benevolent to share with other and major religions all have some variation of unmitigated giving. The power in giving without expectation of recouping lies in the universe’s ability to return your blessings to you in many folds. You may think you need to be rich to give but that is a false notion. Giving 10% of what you earn to someone in need can be practiced at all levels of income. If you cannot commit to giving $100 after you've earned your first $1000, then it is unlikely that you will give $100,000 after you've earned your first million dollars. By getting into the habit of letting money go, you not only loosen your grip on money by allowing it to flow, but you begin to think of money not as an end, but as a means or a tool. Money is not meant to be static, but to flow. Trying to hoard your money is the surest way of losing it! Giving, as opposed to taking, is the principle of sustainable organizations. I will also tell you that the only way to produce sustainable success in this life is to provide value to others. This is based on the idea of sharing your skills, talents, and value to other people. The world rewards you for your value to it. Let your work be grounded in the rationale ‘to help other people’.

Sharing your resources with other people in exchange for money is one way to think about the business world. Let me give you an example of this. If you are in the business of real estate, then you are providing safe and reliable housing options to tenants. You are not in the business of robbing near-homeless people for money; that cannot be sustained. If you are in the business of drop shipping, then you are providing cheap products to people across the world. If you are in the world of marketing, then you are not seeking to exploit people's perceived weaknesses for your financial gain – that is not sustainable! Rather, your intent is to convince people to buy a product you truly believe in, one that you believe will make the buyers' lives better. Sustainable success is rooted in the principle of giving in value more than you receive so, focus on bolstering your premium so that you may give and receive more blessings.

Now let's bring this back to being selfish as a student. The key point is this, the purpose of being selfish is so that you can give more. That is such a good statement that I'm going to repeat it again. The purpose of being selfish is so that you can give more.
